Corfu and the sea

This is the official app for the Community Map of the Ecomuseum of Petritis and South Corfu, developed during an European Project by the Corfu University and Foggia University.

Thanks to the research activity of the Universities, using the app it’s possible to discover the history and the secrets of Corfu.

Using the app it’s possible to enjoy different functionalities:

- You can explore two different kind of maps of South Corfu. One focused on the history of the island; One focused on the experience you can live there: in term of cultural routes created by the local University, to discover and live the most interesting places of Corfu.

-You can also filter the view of the points of interest on the map considering your needs, so if you are moving by car, by bicycle or if you want to live an historical-hiking experience.

- The map can be explored trough two basic gestures: via pinch gesture to zoom the map and via tap gesture to move the map.

- You can tap on insight points and to read the content projected and created by archeologist and researcher in two english and Greek (to reach an audience made of tourist, passionate people, insiders and residents).

- When you visit Corfu, you can pinpoint your location on the road map

To conclude, this digital map is part of a broader transmedia project that brings together traditional and innovative media, creating a complex innovative communication system for the Cultural Heritage sector.
